Safari on iPhone and iPad

1. Install Cart to Link

Get Cart to Link for iPhone & iPad on the App Store.

2. Enable the Safari extension

Open the app and tap “Open Safari extension settings,” or go to Settings → Apps → Safari → Extensions → Cart to Link. Turn on the extension. Allow access to the Amazon website you use and carttolink.com; each site has its own permission.

3. Share from Safari

Sign in to Amazon in Safari, open your cart, then select Cart to Link from Safari’s page menu. Check the items and estimated total before creating a link. The extension does not run inside the Amazon app.

Chrome on desktop

Step 1: Visit Chrome Web Store

Open Cart To Link in the Chrome Web Store.

Step 2: Add to Chrome

Click the "Add to Chrome" button and confirm the installation when prompted.

Step 3: Verify Installation

Look for the Cart To Link icon in your browser toolbar. You're ready to start sharing!

Quick Tip: Pin the extension to your toolbar for easy access by right-clicking the extension icon and selecting "Pin".

Safari on Mac

Install Cart to Link from the App Store, then open Safari → Settings → Extensions, enable Cart to Link, and allow access to the Amazon website you use and carttolink.com.

System Requirements

  • Safari on iPhone or iPad, Safari on Mac, or Chrome on desktop
  • For short sharing links, allow the extension access to carttolink.com
  • Chrome version 88 or higher if you use the Chrome extension
  • Internet connection
  • Amazon account (for cart sharing)

Getting Started

Creating Your First Shared Cart

  1. Open your Amazon cart in Safari on iPhone, iPad, or Mac, or Chrome on desktop
  2. Open Cart To Link from Safari’s page menu or the Chrome toolbar
  3. Check the products and quantities, then select “Create share link”
  4. Copy or share the Cart To Link URL
Success! Recipients can click your shared link to view all cart items and add them to their own Amazon cart.

Understanding the Extension Popup

The extension may show different options based on the current page:

  • On Amazon Cart Page: Shows cart items and "Create Share Link" button
  • On Other Amazon Pages: Shows "Go to Cart" button
  • On Other Sites: Open a supported Amazon cart in Safari or Chrome to create a link

Troubleshooting

Extension Not Working

Common Solutions:
  1. Refresh the Amazon page
  2. In Safari on iPhone or iPad, check Settings → Apps → Safari → Extensions → Cart to Link, and allow your Amazon website and carttolink.com
  3. In Chrome, check that the extension is enabled in chrome://extensions/
  4. Make sure you're logged into Amazon
  5. Clear browser cache and cookies
  6. Restart your browser and reopen the Amazon cart

Cart Items Not Showing

If your cart items aren't appearing in the shared link:

  • Ensure your cart isn't empty
  • Some digital or restricted items may not be shareable
  • Try removing and re-adding items to your cart
  • Check if items are available in the recipient's region

Error Messages

"Failed to extract cart data"

This error usually means:

  • Your cart is empty
  • You're not logged into Amazon
  • There's a temporary connectivity issue

Privacy & Security

What Data We Collect

Creating a link sends the cart details needed to display the shared page:

  • Product names and descriptions
  • Product prices and quantities
  • Product images and URLs
  • Amazon marketplace and generated cart URL

What Shared Carts Don't Include

  • Your Amazon password or account credentials
  • Payment card or shipping address
  • Your private Amazon messages or order history
Security: The sharing service uses HTTPS. Anyone with a shared link can view its products. Contact support to request deletion of a shared link.
